Cellosaurus EndoC-betaH2 (CVCL_IS71)

Cell line name EndoC-betaH2
Synonyms EndoC-BH2
Accession CVCL_IS71
Resource Identification Initiative To cite this cell line use: EndoC-betaH2 (RRID:CVCL_IS71)
Comments Characteristics: The lentiviral vector insert containing the SV40 LT and hTERT can be excised by the Cre recombinase. Following excision of immortalizing transgenes, cell proliferation sharply decreases and in parallel there is a massive enhancement of beta cell-specific features such as increased INS gene expression.
Virology: Contains an integrated xenotropic MuLV-related virus (XMRV) Bxv-1 (PubMed=26901817).
Doubling time: 5-7 days (PubMed=24667639).
Transfected with: HGNC; 11730; TERT.
Transformant: NCBI_TaxID; 1891767; Simian virus 40 (SV40).
Omics: Transcriptome analysis by microarray.
Derived from site: In situ; Pancreas, islets of Langerhans; UBERON=UBERON_0000006.
Cell type: Pancreatic beta cell; CL=CL_0000169.
Species of origin Homo sapiens (Human) (NCBI Taxonomy: 9606)
