Comments Biotechnology: Used in a bioassay that permits the large-scale screening of compound libraries for inhibitors of HBV replication.
Characteristics: Inducibly expresses an HBV genome under the control of a tet operator/CMV promoter. Upon removal of tetracycline the cell line produces viral RNA and secrete virus-like particles into the supernatant.
