Cellosaurus HC-04 (CVCL_Z631)

[Text version]

Cell line name HC-04
Synonyms HC04; HCO4
Accession CVCL_Z631
Resource Identification Initiative To cite this cell line use: HC-04 (RRID:CVCL_Z631)
Comments Problematic cell line: Possibly contaminated. Indicated (PubMed=24532842) to have a near genetic identity with Hep-G2 cells. But they are functionally different from Hep-G2 cells since they support sporozoite invasion and liver stage exoerythrocytic development of Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax. But STR profile from BEI Resources is identical to that of Hep-G2.
Omics: Deep proteome analysis.
Sequence variations NRAS p.Gln61Leu (c.182A>T) (ClinVar=VCV000375874) (from parent cell line).
TERT c.228C>T (-124C>T); in promoter (from parent cell line).
Disease Hepatoblastoma (NCIt: C3728)
Hepatoblastoma (ORDO: Orphanet_449)
Species of origin Homo sapiens (Human) (NCBI Taxonomy: 9606)
Hierarchy Parent: CVCL_0027 (Hep-G2)
Sex of cell Male
Age at sampling 15Y
Category Cancer cell line
