Lung Cancer Cell Line

Description

A hypodiploid cell line, from lung, metastatic site, pleural affusion carcinoma, held at ATCC. Karyotyped in collaboration with the Sanger Institute.

Notable Features

Hypodiploid with 10 structural rearrangements involving chromosomes 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 21, losses of chromosomes 4, 5q, 8, 9p, 10 and gain of chromosome 20. Five of the rearrangements  are simple non-reciprocal translocations, one is a complex dicentric and one i(15q). Double minutes were observed in some cells involving chromosomes 3, 5, 6.
